Labs
Each lab is a small piece of software built around one idea that is hard to see on paper. Change something, predict what will happen, then run it.
- Topic 2.11 Normal Curve Explorer Move the mean and standard deviation, drag the cutoffs, and guess the shaded area before it is revealed.
- Topics 2.12 to 4.1 Sampling Distribution Machine Draw thousands of samples from a skewed population and watch the distribution of sample means turn normal.
- Topics 3.3 to 4.8 Confidence Interval Capture Build a hundred confidence intervals and count how many catch the true value. That count is what confidence means.
- Topics 3.5 to 3.8 Is This Coin Fair? A mystery coin might be fair or might be rigged. Flip it, run the test, decide, and find out if you made an error.
- Topics 5.1 to 5.5 Regression Playground Tap to add points, drag them around, and watch the least-squares line, r and the residual plot respond.
- Topics 5.1 to 5.2 Guess the Correlation A new scatterplot every round. Estimate r, then see how close you were. Build the instinct the exam assumes you have.
- Topics 2.3 to 2.4 Probability Simulator Flip coins and roll dice by the thousand. Watch the relative frequency settle down toward the true probability.
- Topics 2.8 to 2.10 Binomial Explorer Change n and p and watch the binomial distribution reshape. Shade exactly k, at most k or at least k.
- Topics 1.10 to 1.13 Who Can We Generalize To? What Caused It? Read a study, decide whether it used random selection, random assignment, both or neither, and claim only what the design allows.
- Topics 1.5 to 1.9 Shape, Center, Spread A new data set every round. Name its shape, spot outliers with the fences, and decide whether the mean or median is larger.
