Probability Simulator
A probability is the long-run relative frequency of an outcome. In the short run, anything can happen. Run a simulation and watch how long the run has to be before the relative frequency settles.
Challenges
- Estimate the probability that two dice sum to 7 with 50 rolls, then with 5,000. Compare both to the exact answer.
- After 10 flips the running proportion of heads is often far from 0.5. After 1,000 it rarely is. What does that say about short runs?
- Find the event among the choices with the smallest probability. How many trials did it take before your estimate was within 0.01 of it?
