Guess the Correlation

Reading strength and direction from a scatterplot is a skill, and skills come from repetition. Each round shows a fresh scatterplot. Slide your guess, lock it in, and see the true correlation.

Challenges

  1. Get three guesses in a row within 0.1 of the true r.
  2. Which is harder to judge: r = 0.3 or r = 0.8? Why do you think so?
  3. Notice the plots with an outlier. Did the outlier push the correlation up or down?
